Overview: This course is designed to support local government staff establishing foundational asset management practices while meeting the Province of New Brunswick’s asset management reporting requirements. Through a combination of online learning, virtual tutorials, and in-person workshops, participants will build practical knowledge across core asset management topics, including governance and policymaking, asset inventory and valuation, condition and risk assessments, levels of service, long-term financial planning, and priority setting. 

The course emphasizes applied learning and continuous improvement, providing participants with a comprehensive suite of practical tools and templates—such as an asset management policy, state of the infrastructure reporting tools, risk assessment frameworks, a 10-year capital planning approach, and an asset management plan template—that can be directly adapted and implemented within their organizations.

Target Audience: All Local Government and RSC Staff (Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, Accountants, Planners, Technologists, etc.)

Format:

- 2 half-day in-person workshops (Fredericton [EN] or Moncton [FR])
- 6 hours of online eLearning modules
- 3 virtual tutorials
