Overview

The New Brunswick Infrastructure Institute is pleased to launch its 2026 training program, Building Climate-Ready and Equitable Communities in New Brunswick. This comprehensive, bilingual program is designed to equip local governments across the province with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to plan, deliver, and manage sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure.

Four courses will be offered in 2026, and participants may register for one or multiple courses based on their interests and needs. Details on upcoming courses and registration information are provided below.

Course 1 - Asset Management Fundamentals
March - June 2026 (16 weeks)

A practical, entry-level course that builds a shared understanding of asset management fundamentals and equips staff with tools to support informed, consistent infrastructure decision-making.

Course 2 - Introduction to Sustainable Infrastructure Practices for Leadership Teams
September - October 2026 (6 weeks)

A concise leadership-focused course that equips elected officials and senior executives with the knowledge and tools needed to champion sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient infrastructure decisions.

Course 3 - Integrating Climate, Equity, and First Nations Engagement in Infrastructure Planning
July - October 2026 (14 weeks)

Equips infrastructure owners with the knowledge and tools to assess climate risks and integrate adaptation, equity, and First Nations engagement into infrastructure planning and asset management.

Course 4 - Turning Plans into Action: Delivering High-Impact Infrastructure Projects
November - December 2026 (6 weeks)

A practical course that helps infrastructure owners move from climate adaptation planning to Council-ready, fundable capital projects.
